Meditation For Birth A training for pregnant people, partners, doulas, and support people to practice deep relaxation, accessing power, awareness, and surrender through working with the breath, body, and mind. We will dive deep into meditation and Sensory Awareness practices to open the pelvis, release the jaw, and belly. We practice quieting the mind and regulating our nervous systems, noticing fear and releasing tension throughout the body. These are the practices I share in prenatal visits as a Doula. In the last few years with Covid madness and constantly shifting protocols I started training partners and support people as well so that even if I could not be present at the birth, these practices would be available to guide both birthing and support people through the experience. Now I want to share these practices with everyone! These are the most valuable tools I have to bring you into power, relaxation, and awareness for your birth.
In the mystery of birth and life, the only guarantee is that breath will accompany you no matter what. Breath can bring power, awareness, and deep relaxation to the body and mind. It is crucial to practice with the breath so that when labor takes us deep into the underworld we trust in our bones the rhythmic movements of our powerful bodies and we have the ability to quiet the thinking mind. This is a practice of regulating the nervous system to allow the incredibly intricate dance of labor and birth to function beautifully. These practices allow us to show up with deep empowerment and surrender to whatever happens in birth, as parents, and in our lives.
As a birth doula, midwifery student, and a mother sharing these practices is the greatest gift I have to prepare you for an empowering birth experience. It is crucially important that we prepare for the unexpected, for the greatest challenge of our lives, to walk through the fire and be transformed by this huge right of passage. Learning to trust the body, quiet the mind, and follow the breath is crucial. I had been practicing my whole life (I was raised with these practices) when I gave birth to my son, and it took every bit of skill I had to show up fully for the experience, to stay in my power and completely surrender to the great mystery. Birth is beautiful and raw and meant to completely transform us.
"Carol is a wealth of knowledge and helped us to connect within, with each other and feel more prepared as we move toward birthing our first child. We are looking forward to working more with her!" -Katie R.

Birth Support It is an honor to accompany families through the incredible adventure of pregnancy, birth, and beyond. A Birth Doula is a trained professional who offers physical, emotional, and informational support before, during, and after birth. She understands the physiology of birth and the emotional needs during labor. She recognizes birth as a key experience the mother will remember for the rest of her life. Studies have shown that when Doulas attend births labors are shorter with fewer complications, babies are healthier and able to breastfeed more easily.
As a Birth Doula I stay with you throughout labor and a few hours after baby is born. I can offer information to assist in decision making and help facilitate communication between you, your support team, and the medical care providers. I can offer physical comfort and relaxation techniques including massage, Craniosacral, working with the breath, and positional changes, as well as reminders to rest and stay nourished. I am passionate about sharing mindfulness tools to prepare for this transformative right of passage. It is so important to practice tools for relaxation, awareness, and being empowered in the moment.
