I've spent nearly 15 years studying and practicing Craniosacral Therapy (CST). I specialize in working with babies and mothers to support pregnancy, birth, postpartum, and beyond. CST is an elegant and powerful modality that works with the Central Nervous System, the very center of the body. It was created by osteopathic doctors and is focused on healthy bone alignment, mobility, and circulation. By gently releasing the tissues around the skull, spine, and pelvis, the entire body is able to fully relax and repair itself. This work is effective for healing from pain, injuries, stress, and to support health and well being.
CST is a hands-on technique that is gentle and safe for new born babies, as well as for mothers during pregnancy, birth, and postpartum. Aligning the bones of the pelvis promotes gentle safe birth and easy recovery. This integrative bodywork relieves pain and mental stress associated with all the physical, emotional, and mental changes of creating a new life.
For babies, CST is an amazing tool that can help with breastfeeding/feeding issues, digestion, infant colic, sleep, turning the head to just one side, fussiness, developmental issues, and so much more! The journey of entering the world is intense no matter how we do it and gentle touch can help welcome babies into the world, into their new bodies. CST can release tension, compression, or trauma from the birth experience so that babies can enjoy being in their bodies and exploring this new life. I offer house-calls for babies and postpartum mothers.
Sessions begin with discussing your goals, current issues, and health history. There is a short intake form for the first visit. Adults can lay on the massage table with loose clothing or undress to your comfort level. For baby sessions they can stay clothed in your arms, gently on my lap, on the massage table or playing on the floor. Sometimes babies breastfeed or sleep through the whole session. For at-home visits for babies and moms we can work wherever you are most comfortable.
